A Celebration In Time is one of the most ambitious projects ever produced by Justin Time Records, and showcases the artists who've been an integral part of the Montreal-based label's storied history since its founding in 1983. In top form are piano giant Oliver Jones; chanteuse extraordinaire Ranee Lee; and the internationally renowned Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir, directed by its founder, Trevor W. Payne. Also performing are the spellbinding Daphnée Louis Singers, direct from Haiti, performing "Gras Bondye."The recording, consisting of both standards and new compositions, all in a seasonal vein, is sure to become both an instant classic as well as a solid retail item, considering the proven sales histories of Mr. Jones, Ms.Lee and the Choir, each of whom are also Juno Award winners.

The holiday season is a great time to kick back and relax with family and loved ones. The best holiday recordings, I've always found, are those that you can enjoy year round, and I think this one fits that bill.

What a great pleasure it was to collaborate with my dear friends Ranee Lee and Trevor Payne.  To celebrate this holiday season with the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir and all the gifted musicians that participated was truly a blessing.

To you and yours, here's wishing you the very best for the holiday season.

Ranee Lee
Christmas Magic, with all of its best wishes and reflections, is symbolized here on A Celebration In Time.  It is OUR melodious individual harmony and expression that unite our diversity to bring you joy through the gift of songs for the season.

Listening to Trevor Payne’s internationally renowned Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir at any time heightens and uplifts our spiritual values, and the music of Oliver Jones never fails to touch the soul and forever leave you smiling. It only stands to reason that it is my ultimate pleasure to be allied with the talents performing here. It was indeed a happy experience….

The Merriest of Holidays to you, my family, my Richard, my fans and my friends.

Trevor W. Payne

With the choir’s thirtieth anniversary fast approaching (in October 2012), and the honour of having Oliver Jones on our Board of Directors, I discussed the possibility of a collaborative Christmas album with him following a meeting last December. His positive response was immediate, and so was that of Ranee Lee. In fact, both Oliver and Ranee were part of the choir’s inaugural public concert in 1982. Oliver remained with the choir during its first two years, as organist, and we are also proud and privileged to say he was also featured regularly as a solo pianist.

Oliver, Ranee, Jim and I have been working together for many years, and are not only business associates but also very close, dear friends.
